ANALYSIS OF ΣΔ-ADC QUANTIZING ERROR

Today ΣΔ-ADCs are the most advanced in the class of integrating analog-to-digital converters. This situation are explained their high metrological (achieved resolution of 24 bits) and technical (ease of implementation, reliability, etc.) characteristics. However, the aggregate criterion of «precision-performance» modern ΣΔ-ADCs are unsuitable for many applications. In this paper was synthesized discrete model describing the process of conversion in the time domain. The model explains the process of the emergence of the quantization errors and can be used in the development of algorithms and technical solutions for its reduction. In addition the model can be used for solving ADC optimization problems.
